Filmmaker. Photographer. Educator. Art Therapy Practitioner
Dominika Dittwald is a Toronto-based filmmaker, artist and educator with over 20 years of experience. She holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology and History from the University of Toronto and a Master of Fine Arts in Film. Dittwald is an OCT-certified teacher licensed to teach in public schools in Ontario, Canada.
Dominika grew up on three continents: Europe, Asia and North America. Her international living and working experience informs her cross-cultural perspective in both life and work. Throughout her career, Dominika Dittwald has taught in a wide range of educational settings, including public and private schools, Upward Bound programs, after-school programs and at the university level. She has designed and led courses in visual art, photography, film and video, as well as academic subjects, always prioritizing inclusive and student-centred learning.
A skilled leader and mentor, Dittwald is passionate about the transformative power of the arts in both education and mental health. Known for her compassion, patience, and adaptability, she has been especially drawn to supporting students struggling with anxiety, depression, and trauma. Dittwald has recently completed certification as an Art Therapy Practitioner to fulfill her dream of providing a safe and non-judgmental space to create and heal.
