Healing Through Art

"Healing through Art" is a creative workshop series designed to nurture mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being through artistic expression. All sessions encourage expressive freedom without judgment, focusing on feeling rather than perfection. Each session invites participants to explore different themes—like mindfulness, emotional release, and self-discovery—using accessible, hands-on art activities. No artistic experience is needed—just a willingness to create, reflect, and connect.

Safe Spaces
Participants create a visual representation of a place where they feel safe, calm, or supported. How does a space impact our wellbeing? This introductory session also establishes group guidelines, builds trust among participants, and introduces art as a tool for self-expression and emotional exploration.

Self-Portrait Beyond Appearance
Using collage, drawing, or mixed media, participants create a self-portrait that reflects their inner qualities, values, strengths, and life experiences. The session encourages exploration of identity beyond physical appearance and fosters self-awareness.

Mapping My Journey
Participants create a visual timeline or symbolic map of significant moments in their lives. Through reflection and creative expression, individuals identify challenges they have overcome, sources of resilience, and important turning points.
December 2026
Expressing Emotions Through Colour
Participants explore the relationship between colours, shapes, and emotions by creating an abstract artwork representing their current emotional landscape. This session helps develop emotional literacy and provides a non-verbal outlet for feelings.

The Masks We Wear
Participants design a mask illustrating what they show to the world on the outside and what they experience internally. The activity encourages reflection on personal roles, expectations, and the balance between authenticity and self-protection.

No Artistic Skill Required

Many people believe that to Heal Through Art they have to be creative or artistic. However, art healing is not about artistic merit or perfection, but rather self-expression. Many painful thoughts and memories are buried deep within and may be expressed more easily through images than words.
